EFEC TRAINING LEADERS IN PUDONG, SHANGHAI

EFEC has been providing leadership programmes and training for organisations in China since 2006. After the challenges posed by the pandemic, we are delighted to see a renewed interest in this work from our long-standing Chinese partners.

One recent example of our successful collaboration is the ‘Leadership 2023’ Programme, currently being implemented in the Pudong New Area in Shanghai. Pudong has embraced the changing global landscape and societal transformations by setting higher goals and adopting innovative concepts in education. They recognize the pivotal role of educational leaders and senior managers in improving outcomes during complex and uncertain times.

In this case, the leadership focus was Pudong’s educational managers. The Education Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Shanghai Pudong Institute of Education Development and Research has introduced foreign professional training resources, including Excellence First’s Leadership 2023 programme.

Pudong education leaders are guided by Jeff Greenidge, UK leadership expert

Leadership 2023 offers leaders in Shanghai an opportunity to re-evaluate the leadership approach and enhance the leadership capacity of managers.
EFEC has just completed the first two modules of the programme: 61 delegates participated, with principals accounting for 40% of the participants.

The first two sessions were delivered by Jeff Greenidge, the distinguished national leadership coach and EFEC Strategic Advisory Board member, in April and May. Noting the alignment between the principles of leadership, emphasising self-awareness, decision-making, and long-term goals, with aspects of Chinese culture and philosophy, Jeff took the group through the purposes of leadership and the keys to effective and sustained performance as a leader.

The EFEC Leadership 2023 programme continues to contribute to the growth and development of leaders in Pudong, Shanghai, supported by the local authorities.
