EFEC is honoured to be a partner with the International Institute for Tourism and Aviation (IITA) and equally privileged to be a member of its Strategy Committee.
The IITA is a ground-breaking international training company for all key jobs in ground-staff and air-staff for the aviation industry.
Aviation is an unusual industry because the standards for most operations are international – qualifying for work in one country for a particular aviation industry role requires the same achievements as in any country.
This reflects the intense importance of safety in the aviation world and the fact that it is all about international links – and is in turn reflected in the norms set by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
EFEC has the specific role in the IITA to direct the international growth for the company. IITA starts out in Portugal and its board and network of supporters include Government, aviation industry, airline and airport leaders. The idea is to develop the IITA and then to franchise it across the gflobe.
EFEC has been chosen to lead on this work, because of connections made through its earlier work in the aviation industry with Patricia Batista, the CEO of IITA. One strong example was EFEC organising some aviation training in Shanghai, pre-pandemic, with Patricia delivering an excellent course for all who attended.
The next step is to create the materials and resources for our first steps into the international market for aviation training. With the backing of the IITA board and executives, and the expertise this offers us, EFEC will work on the path into many countries. Of course, China, with its pre-eminent status in the aviation industry in terms of sheer numbers, is a prime first location.
We prepare for take-off……
